Pawtucket Red Sox

Thanks to my friend Tim for taking us to last Friday’s game at McCoy Stadium to watch the PawSox pull off an unlikely win off of the Charlotte Knights. It was a ninth inning win as the Charlotte pitcher threw a wild pitch, allowing a loaded bases situation to bring in the winning run to end the game.

Baseball means hot dogs so this time around I decided to go for the Monster Dog. The half-pound dog was what you’d expect from an Aramark stand, but the servers certainly weren’t. My best guess is that the teenage girls, sporting short shorts and running the registers, were part of a calculated hiring effort that was intended to take your mind off of the bland food they served up.

The PawSox certainly did have the selection of beers going for them. I got to try Wachusetts’ Green Monstah, which was a pretty pleasing IPA. Yes, please!

Thanks for the suggestion. I go to NJ pretty often to visit my wife’s family but haven’t made it to Hot Dog Johnny’s yet. And I love puerile humor, so going to a place named Buttzville is my idea of a good time!
